Veita has an active role in infant mental health and advocacy, including serving as a committee member and membership co‑ordinator for the Infant Mental Health Association Aotearoa New Zealand (IMHAANZ).

    Mental Health, University of Otago 2022.

  • Registered counsellor with NZCCA since 2015.

Veita is a perinatal counsellor. She has extensive experience working in the perinatal mental health sector, with over 10 years working in private practice and contracting to services such as the Waikato PHO’s, Waikato Perinatal Mental Health, Waikato Family Centre, and Teen Parent Units and ACC.

What is a perinatal counsellor?

Perinatal counselling offers specialised mental wellbeing support during pregnancy and after birth. It helps Christchurch mums with symptoms of postnatal depression, feeling anxious as a new mum, help with postnatal sadness, and birth trauma recovery. A perinatal counsellor supports both parent and baby and choosing someone with advanced perinatal mental health training ensures proper screening and evidence‑based treatment
